Minimal marks on page edges (no words, names, initials or artwork)

Cover is not laminated or taped

Spine shows no visible cracks greater than 2 inches long

No water/liquid damage

No tears in pages or cover

Bargain:

Moderate wear overall

Bent/frayed corners (less than ½ inch)

Moderate marking/highlighting in text (less than 25% of book)

Some pages may be bent, creased, or wavy

Page binding is intact

Moderately worn cover binding

Cover is intact but not taped

Entire cover may be laminated (no partial lamination)

Spine may be cracked but not separated

Water/liquid damage does not exceed 1% of pages

Tears no larger than ½” on the cover, or 1” on pages but must not interfere with text, regardless

Thrift:

Significant wear overall

Bent/frayed corners up to 3 inches

Excessive marking/highlighting in text but does not interfere with text

Excessive marking on page edges

Pages may be bent or creased

Worn/loose binding (no pages missing or separated from binding)

Cover binding loose, pulling away from page binding

Marking that obstructs the text

Water/liquid damage exceeding 5% of book

Marked as “Not for sale”, “Sample”, “Review”, or “Examination” copy (or anything to that effect)

Teacher Editions

Dark stains / dark grime / dark liquid damage

Food stains or gum residue

Torn pages that prohibit the reading of any text
